摘要：By creating digitized maps of the special economic zone boundaries and exploiting the geocoded location information on Chinese firms, we improve the evaluation of the effects of zones. We find that the program increases treated firms' innovation outcomes. We also identify knowledge spillovers as an important channel for greater innovation outcomes. Furthermore, the degree of horizontal agglomeration is more crucial than the degree of diversity for facilitating knowledge spillovers and thereby innovation.

蔣海威，中央財經(jīng)大學(xué)國際經(jīng)濟與貿(mào)易學(xué)院助理教授。研究領(lǐng)域為世界經(jīng)濟、創(chuàng)新經(jīng)濟、應(yīng)用微觀經(jīng)濟學(xué)等。在Journal of Comparative Economics、World Economy、《管理世界》等雜志發(fā)表多篇論文。擔(dān)任Review of International Economics、China Economic Journal等期刊匿名審稿人。
